Virat Kohli says both batsmen will start the innings in the first Test, Pant will be the wicketkeeper

Rohit and Shubhaman Gill will open

Rohit Sharma, who is recovering from injury in the third Test against Australia, was replaced by Mayank Agarwal in the eleventh over. He started his innings for India in three Tests. Gill is Captain Kohli’s first choice in the series against England.

Rishabh Pant will be wicketkeeping in the Chennai Test
