Indian captainVirat Kohli spoke to the media ahead of the four-match Test series against England from Friday. In a virtual press conference, Kohli said which pair will start the innings in the Chennai Test for the team and who will play in the eleven as wicketkeeper.
The first match between the two teams will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. On Thursday, Kohli briefed the media about the upcoming series. After playing the first match of the Test series in Australia, Kohli returned to India for personal reasons. Kohli praised opener Sumana Gill in Australia and described her as Rohit’s partner.
Rohit and Shubhaman Gill will open
Virat confirmed that Rohit Sharma and Shuma Gill will also play in the match. The pair of Rohit and Gill got off to a very good start in Australia. Rohit Sharma, who is recovering from injury in the third Test against Australia, was replaced by Mayank Agarwal in the eleventh over. He started his innings for India in three Tests. Gill is Captain Kohli’s first choice in the series against England.
Rishabh Pant will be wicketkeeping in the Chennai Test

Kohli informed that the Indian team will be with five bowlers in the first match against England while playing at home. The all-rounder will be given preference in eleven games.
