The BCCI along with Shikhar Dhawan ordered the players to reach Ahmedabad by March 1

Both the teams will play in three ODI series in Pune. The players of the Indian team have been asked to reach Ahmedabad before the launch of the limited overs series.

Many players of the Indian team being selected for the T20 series are currently playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Openers Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Rahul Tewatia have been asked to reach Ahmedabad by March 1 to join the team. Once here everyone will be quarantined and then they will all be able to practice with the rest of the team.

“As far as I know, Shikhar Dhawan has been asked to reach Ahmedabad by March 1 along with the rest of the players,” a PTI DDCA official said. Players of limited overs matches are asked to play two to three matches so that they can get in rhythm. He will then have to go to the bubble following the Kovid protocol according to the new space.

The Indian team is scheduled to play a five-match T20I series against England between March 12 and March 20. All these matches will be played at Motara Stadium in Ahmedabad. India’s 19-member squad for the T20 series was announced on Saturday. Three new players Suryakumar Yadav, Ihan Kishan and Rahul Tewatia have been given first place.
