Iyer wrote in his post, “The operation has been successful and I will return as soon as possible with full commitment. Thank you for your good wishes. ”

Wounded against England

Let me tell you that Iyer, 26, was injured in an attempt to block a shot by Johnny Bairstow during the first ODI against England on March 23 in Pune. Then he was suffering. Due to this, he was eliminated from the rest of the matches against England and also from IPL 2021.

Iyer was replaced by Rishabh Pant as Captain

Iyer suffered a serious injury to his shoulder. The scan revealed that he had to undergo surgery on his shoulder. That being said, Iyer’s recovery could take about four months to come.

Will not be able to participate in county cricket

Notably, Iyer was due to take part in county cricket in England in July. Indeed, county team Lancashire signed him for the Royal London ODI Cup, but it is now believed that it is difficult for Iyer to take part in the tournament. Because it will take them a long time to get back on the cricket field.
