New Delhi: Leg-spinner Rashid Khan, who gave Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) his first win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season by bowling brilliantly against Delhi Capitals (DC), has bagged the Man of the Match award from his late mother. Offered to the father.
The Sunrisers were 162 for four in their first innings. In response, the Delhi team was 15 runs behind. Rashid netted the spin and took three wickets for 14 runs in four overs.
“The last year and a half have been very difficult for me,” he said after receiving the Man of the Match award. First I lost my father and three to four months ago I lost my mother. She was my biggest fan. This award is for both of them. Whenever I got an award she would talk to me all night.
A heartfelt tribute from @rashidkhan_19 as he dedicates his Man of the Match award to his late parents. His mom was a fan of his bowling and was proud to see him collect Man of the Match awards in IPL. #Dream11IPL #DCvSRH @SunRisers pic.twitter.com/W1ta0G5kRe
