New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowling expert Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for “a few days or a few weeks” due to a groin injury, head coach Stephen Fleming has said.
Bravo could not bowl in the final over against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday, in which the opposition won by the required 17 runs.
“It looks like he (Bravo) has a right groin injury, however, he is so serious that he is unable to get back on the field in bowling, he is disappointed not to be able to bowl the last over,” Fleming said.
Fleming said Bravo’s injury will be assessed. “His injuries will be assessed, at this point you can assume he has been out for a few days or a few weeks,” the head coach told the Super Kings after a five-wicket defeat.
Due to Bravo’s injury, the Super Kings handed over the responsibility of bowling to Ravindra Jadeja in the last over. “Dwayne Bravo could not bowl in the last over due to injury. He is naturally a death over bowler. Our season goes on like this. We have to face constant challenges,” Fleming told a post-match press conference.
