Ahmedabad: Today (Sunday, March 7), the IPL Governing Council has announced the full schedule of the Indian Premier League 2021 (IPL 2021). The tournament will be played in India this time. The IPL is returning to India after almost two years. This time the tournament will be played in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
The first match of the season will be played in Chennai from April 9, 2021. There will be a competition between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The IPL play-offs and finals will be played here on May 30, 2021 at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world’s largest cricket stadium. The Pink Ball Test match between India and England was played here in the same stadium. Now for the first time IPL matches will be played here.

In the league stage each team will play on four grounds. Out of the 56 matches in the league, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bengaluru will have 10 matches each, while 8 matches will be played in Ahmedabad. The specialty of this year’s IPL is that all the matches will be played at a neutral venue. Neither team will play a match at their home ground. Each team will play their league stage match on four of the six grounds.
