New Delhi: For the first time in the history of the IPL, an American cricketer will be seen playing. Kolkata Knight Riders have teamed up with 29-year-old fast bowler Ali Khan. Khan will replace the injured Harry Garni, who will miss the 2020 IPL due to a shoulder injury. This year, the IPL is being held in Dubai, not on Indian soil, from September 19.
Khan was part of the Trincomalee Knight Riders team that won the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title. Khan took eight wickets in eight matches at an economy of 7.43. According to reports, Khan was also on KKR’s radar last season, but no deal could be struck.
Let me tell you, the Trincomalee Knight Riders and KKR are the same company that won the Caribbean Premier League title. Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan owns these teams. In 2018, Ali Khan became famous during Global T20 Canada, where he attracted the attention of star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo. Dwayne Bravo called him a CPL. That year Khan took 16 wickets in 12 matches from Guyana’s Amazon Warriors. He was the second highest wicket taker.
