New Delhi: The second Test between India and England is being played at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from today. This match is also special because with this, almost a year later, the spectators have also returned to the field. Earlier, due to Corona, spectators were not allowed on the ground, but the BCCI has decided to allow 50 per cent spectators to enter the ground for the match. The BCCI tweeted a very special and heart touching video before the match regarding the return of spectators to the field.
What is special about this video
The video, posted on Twitter by the BCCI, shows empty chairs on the ground. At the same time, the voice of the audience can be heard. “Dear fans of the Indian team, we missed you so much on the field, but now we are fully prepared to welcome the spectators for the second Test match,” the BCCI wrote while sharing the video. We look forward to seeing you chirping on the field. “
Dear #TeamIndia fans we’ve missed you and we are now all set to welcome back crowds to cricket for the second Test.

All tickets sold out
For this match, 50 per cent i.e. about 15 thousand spectators have been allowed to enter the field. All tickets for the match have been sold out and spectators are excited to enter the field to enjoy the first day’s match. All tickets were sold out within an hour of the ticket window opening. Notably, in March last year, the South African team came to India to play a three-match ODI series. Spectators rushed to the ground to watch the first match of the series in Dehradun, but the match was canceled due to rain. Due to Corona, the next two matches of the series were canceled. This will be the first time since then that spectators will see their favorite players playing on the field.
