New Delhi: Three Indian batsmen, including captain Virat Kohli, are in the top 10 in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Test rankings released on Saturday. In this ranking, Kohli is fourth, Pujara is sixth and Ajinkya Rahane is eighth. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and Australia’s Steve Smith top the batting rankings.
A place behind the giant
Kohli has lost three matches in the four-match Test series against Australia. Kohli has slipped from third to fourth position with 862 points. First-place finisher Ken Williamson has 919 points, followed by Steve Smith with 891 points and then Marnus Lubushen with 878 points. England captain Joe Root is fifth with 823 points. Among other Indian players, Cheteshwar Pujara is at the eighth position with 760 points, one place advantage and Ajinkya Rahane is at the eighth position with one place advantage of 748 points. Apart from this, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who played a key role in the series win against Australia, is ranked 13th and opener Rohit Sharma is ranked 18th.
Ashwin and Bumrah are in the top ten bowlers
Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is eighth with 760 points and fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah is ninth with 757 points. Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins tops the list with 908 points. England fast bowler Stuart Broad is second with 839 points and New Zealand fast bowler Neil Wagner is third with 835 points.
Ben number one allrounder
In the latest rankings, England’s Ben Stokes rules the all-rounder’s list with 427 points. In this list of India, Ravindra Jadeja is third with 419 points and Ashwin is sixth with 281 points. West Indies’ Jason Holder is second with 423 points.
