Big change in RCB franchise just before IPL, team’s first match on September 21

New Delhi: Diageo India Chief Executive (CEO) Anand Kripalu will replace Sanjeev Churiwala as the chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from October 1.

Anand is also the Managing Director along with the CEO of Diageo India. “Royal Challengers Bangalore is an integral part of Diageo India and I have been a part of the team’s behind-the-scenes journey for the last six years,” Anand said of the change in leadership of the franchise.

“Leading a team with Virat (Kohli), Mike Hesson and Simon Katich from the start of the new season will be a new exciting chapter,” he said.

“I thank Sanjeev for his contribution to RCB and Diageo and wish him well for his new role in the future,” he said. The RCB team will start their campaign in the 13th season of the IPL from September 21. His first match is against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
