A curfew will be imposed in Karnataka from today till January 2 from 10 pm to 6 am.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has announced a curfew last night. According to the order, curfew will be imposed from 10 pm to 6 am. It will start tonight and run until January 2. Earlier, a night curfew was imposed in Maharashtra in view of a new type of corona virus in the UK.

However, on Tuesday, Yeddyurappa said there was no need to impose a night curfew in the state. We have learned that a person living in Britain in Chennai has been infected. We have to take extra care. Everyone coming in from outside at the airport will be checked. All necessary precautions have been taken and the government is being monitored to prevent the spread of the virus in Karnataka.

A total of 1,141 new cases of corona virus were reported in Karnataka on Tuesday and 14 people died, according to the state health and family welfare department. The state has 13,993 active cases as of December 22. The number of patients recovering from corona has increased to 8 lakh 85 thousand 341. According to the department, 12,029 people have died due to the epidemic in the state so far.

Meanwhile, the total number of infections in the country has increased to one crore 99 thousand, while more than 96.63 lakh people have become infection free. According to figures released by the Union Health Ministry, the death toll has risen to 1 lakh 46 thousand 444 after the deaths of 333 more patients. The number of patients undergoing treatment for Covid-19 was less than three lakh for the second day in a row.
