Union Minister denies Mumbai cyber attack, Maharashtra Home Minister released the report

Union Energy Minister RK Singh has denied China’s cyber attack in a major power-cut in Mumbai in October 2020. “There were cyber attacks on the Load Dispatch Center in our northern and southern areas but they could not reach our operating system,” RK Singh said. Singh said Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had informed him that there had been cyber attacks on his SCADA system in Mumbai.

“We have no evidence to suggest that cyber attacks were carried out by China or Pakistan,” he said. Some say China is behind the attack but we no longer have evidence of it. China, however, has denied the allegations.

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said the issue of cyber attacks was not limited to Mumbai, but could spread across the country. We should not politicize this issue. I have spoken to Union Minister RK Singh about this. He has asked for a report on this and said that we should be vigilant. The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has released a preliminary report in this regard.
