Jennifer Aniston has admitted she’s thought about giving up acting because it did not interest her. The “Friends” alum dropped the bombshell in the latest episode of the “SmartLess” podcast.
Speaking with hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes on Monday, Aniston said she began thinking about her exit from Hollywood after a project she was involved in left her burnt out.
“I would have to say the last two years that has crossed my mind,” she said, “which it never did before.”
Aniston’s career spans decades and includes multiple successes. Most recently, she appeared in the Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show,” which won her a Screen Actors Guild Award and earned her nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globes. Despite her powerful performance, Aniston had been having doubts about acting, after an “unprepared project” that “sucked the life” from her.
“I don’t know if this is what interests me,” she recalled thinking.
Aniston added that, if she had to pick an alternative career, she would pursue interior design.
“I love it. It’s my happy place. It’s really a happy place for me,” she said.
During the interview, the 51-year-old shared some of her top career highlights, which included working on the set of “Friends.”
“That’s a no brainer…I would have to say that would be number one,” she said.
Speaking about her favorite movie experience, Aniston singled out the 2014 drama ‘Cake.’
“That was an experience that was creatively fulfilling,” she said. “Everything I imagined as an actor I’d be completely afraid of and suck at, I didn’t so bad.”
