Spoiler warning: This article discusses the recently released episode of Attack on Titan season 4.
In the world of entertainment, there may not be another show quite as popular right now as Attack on Titan.
The eighth episode of the final season aired around the world last night and boy-o-boy has this episode rocked the anime fanbase.
There has been an outpouring of tributes to Sasha on social media following her death at the hands of the young Warrior Candidate Gabi, but why did she kill her?
What happened in episode 8?
Episode 8 was nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster, with twists and turns that have shocked the anime world.
The opening sequence was Eren putting a beating on Reiner and the team escaping the Internment Zone on the zeppelin.
However, Gabi was able to shoot down the rear guard of the blimp, a man called Lobov, and used his ODM gear to get onto the airship.
Gabi, who still somehow manages to have a rifle, shoots into the crowd of Scouts, killing Sasha.
The pair of Warrior’s are captured and brought to Levi, where it is revealed that Zeke has been in on the Scouts’ plan all along.
Why did Gabi kill Sasha?
- In Attack on Titan season 4 episode 8, Gabi killed Sasha for revenge on the Scouts destruction of Marley, which resulted in the deaths of fellow Warrior Unit Cadets Zofia and Udo.
In the previous episode, Sasha shot two of the Internment Zone guards who were protecting Gabi.
However, it appeared that Gabi did not intentionally aim for Sasha on the blimp, instead shooting blindly into the crowd of Scouts.
From Gabi’s standpoint, this was more of poetic justice for the attack that killed Zofia and Udo, rather than personal revenge against Sasha.
