Death in Paradise celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and to mark the occasion some familiar faces are returning to the cast.
The most prominent being Sara Martins who returns to the role of Camille Bordey after leaving Saint Marie in 2015’s fourth series.

The team have been struggling with the murder of renowned concert pianist Pasha Verdinikov.
After finding nothing but dead-ends, Camille’s mother, Catherine Bordey, reveals to Neville that she might have some useful information.
However, before she can divulge what she knows, Catherine is attacked by a masked assailant and is left fighting for her life.
With Florence Cassell heading to England to investigate a lead, Commissioner Selwyn Patterson reaches out to an old friend and colleague, Camille Bordey, to help crack the case that has put her mother’s life in danger.
Why did Camille leave Death in Paradise?
- Camille Bordey left Death in Paradise as the character was offered undercover work in Paris.
Eager for a fresh start, Camille left her mother and the Saint Marie police force behind mid-way through 2015’s series 4.
Her final appearance came in the episode Until Death Do You Part, which saw her share a kiss with Kris Marshall’s DI Humphrey Goodman, the final act in a will-they-won’t-they relationship.
As she was never killed off, however, there was always the possibility of a return.

Speaking to WhatsOnTV at the time of her departure, Sara Martins said: “Yes, [quitting was] tremendously hard. I’ve loved everything about the show.
“But the only way to grow in life is to take risks, even if it means losing something you love, or leaving a place that’s comfortable.”
Even in 2015, however, the actress teased that it wasn’t the last we’d seen of Camille Bordey: “We wanted to make the best exit, and they didn’t want to kill me off – there was no reason to. It was perfect for me because I wanted to say goodbye to Camille and the audience. And who knows, there’s always the possibility I can come back!”
