Billy and Tommy in WandaVision

Billy and Tommy Maximoff were introduced to WandaVision in episode 3 after Wanda appeared to become pregnant by magic and since then, hints about their abilities have transformed into full-blown displays of their powers.

Episode 5 saw the boys grow from babies into toddlers and then into 10-year-olds before their uncle, Pietro Maximoff, made an unexpected appearance.

Pietro, now played by Evan Peters, is a mischievous influence on the boys in episode 6’s Halloween special when it’s revealed that Billy and Tommy have powers of their own.

Billy Maximoff

Billy Maximoff is played by Julian Hilliard who was born in 2011 and is nine years old at the time of writing.

Aside from WandaVision, he is best known for his roles in The Haunting of Hill House, Color Out of Space and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

In episode 6, Billy doesn’t automatically show his powers but when Vision leaves the Hex and is on the verge of death, Billy has the ability to sense the danger and warn Wanda.

After being introduced to the Marvel comics in 1986, Billy later became known as Wiccan and possessed many of the magical abilities we see in his mother.

Billy’s story in the comics doesn’t end well as both he and his brother are killed when a mysterious villain named Mephisto – who also helped in their creation – absorbs them to gain strength.

That’s not the end for Billy and Tommy, however, as they were resurrected in 2005 to become members of the Young Avengers team.

While we’ve already seen Billy’s ability to sense danger and see what lay outside of the Hex, as the hero Wiccan, he possed even more abilities which included flight, reality-warping, telekinesis, telepathy, electrokinesis, force fields, teleportation and astral projection.

Tommy Maximoff

Jett Klyne takes on the role of Tommy Maximoff in WandaVision.

Born in 2013, Jett already has over 20 acting credits to his name and has appeared in the Dwayne Johnson-starring movie Skyscraper as well as The X-Files, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and even Supergirl.

In terms of his powers, Tommy – also known as Speed – takes on many of the powers possessed by Quicksilver, his uncle Pietro.

Billy and Tommy are virtually inseparable in the comics and so Tommy shares the same fate of being killed by Mephisto in the comics only to return to become a Young Avenger.

Thanks to episode 6, we’ve already seen that Tommy possesses super speed but his abilities also extend to molecular acceleration, concussive blasts, super-fast reflexes, fast metabolism, intangibility – the ability to pass through objects – and whirlwind creation.

WandaVision is available to stream now on Disney+ after premiering on January 15th, 2021.

In other news, Vincenzo episode 1: Expected release time for new Netflix K-drama!
