Who is Jane Tennant? NCIS: Hawaii
It was recently reported that the forthcoming NCIS spinoff in the pipeline – titled NCIS: Hawaii – is set to feature a woman in the central role.
TVLine broke the news exclusively and the lead has been tentatively named Jane Tennant, although a CBS representative declined to comment on this. Jane would be the first Special Agent in Charge of “NCIS Pearl,” cementing her in NCIS history as the first woman helming a show in the franchise.
At this point, little else is known about the potential character, which makes sense considering that NCIS: Hawaii hasn’t officially been given a series order at the network.
Nevertheless, TVLine notes that casting for the central ensemble is currently ongoing. So, we don’t yet know who could portray the mysterious Jane Tennant, or if that will definitely even be the lead’s name.
Looking back over the show’s history, it’s perhaps with acknowledging NCIS: Red, which grabbed fans’ attention in 2013 with the promise of Kim Raver (Grey’s Anatomy) and John Corbett (Sex and the City) in the leading roles.
They were set to reprise their roles from pilots ‘Red’ and ‘Red 2’, which aired as NCIS: Los Angeles additions. However, the spin-off never materialised.
Reports of NCIS: Hawaii ushering in a female lead follows announcements that NCIS: New Orleans will officially conclude on season 7, which has been shortened.
