Who is Alex Browne?

  • It appears that the Alex Browne commended in Marcella series 3 was a soldier from Northern Ireland.

There is little information about Alex Browne online but according to the Belfast Telegraph, the veteran soldier passed away on July 12th, 2020 after tragically taking his own life.

The publication reports that Alex, who served in the Royal Irish Regiment, was one of two servicemen to die by suicide within a few weeks of each other.

It’s unclear exactly how Alex Browne was involved in ITV’s Marcella but the most obvious link is that series 3 was both set and filmed in Northern Ireland.

Marcella season 3 began airing at 9pm on ITV on January 26th while the full series is available to stream now on ITV Hub.
