In the budget presented on February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced an additional 1 crore gas connections under the Ujjawala Yojna. “The free cooking gas LPG scheme (Ujjawala) will be expanded and more than one crore beneficiaries will be brought under this ambit,” the finance minister said. Even today millions of women in the villages cook on wood and dung stoves, which has a detrimental effect on health. Only a woman from the BPL family can apply for a gas connection under the Ujjawala scheme. For this you have to fill the KYC form and give it to the nearest LPG center. When applying, you should also state whether you want to take a 14.2 kg cylinder or a 5 kg cylinder.
