Mumbai: Minister of State Vijay Shivtare today called on senior leader Sharad Pawar at his Silver Oak residence in Mumbai regarding the situation in Corona in Purandar taluka. He pointed out the growing situation of corona patients in Purandar taluka and discussed with him the measures to be taken. Mr. Pawar immediately instructed all the concerned ministers and officials to take action by telephone.
Regarding this visit, Shivtare said, “I requested Mr. Pawar to immediately set up a Covid Center in the administrative building at Saswad with facilities like sanitation, electricity and water.” Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao was informed by Shri. Pawar gave immediate instructions. I had made various demands that the market at Saswad of Nira Market Committee should be shifted to the sports complex at Dive due to corona and oxygen and ventilators should be provided to Saswad and Jejuri rural hospitals, ambulances should be provided to the patients on time. When I was the Minister of State, I had approved the proposal of the Nira Market Committee to set up a wholesale market at Saswad with permanent lights, but the Revenue Department had demanded Rs 2 crore from the Market Committee for the transfer of land. As the market committee was not very financially viable, when I asked Pawar to give this place at a nominal rate, he immediately informed Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat.
