According to research by a Delhi-based institute, “Fatlets in disposable baby nappies found in the Indian market can lead to a number of diseases in children such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity and reproductive disorders.” There have also been scientific studies of diaphragms in diapers being absorbed into the body through the skin. In addition, these harmful chemicals mix with household waste and reach the outside environment and can cause serious damage to the environment. Research has warned Indian parents against using such diapers. Fattylates are chemicals that disrupt the intestines known for short as EDC and exposure to them raises serious health questions in the body. Twenty diaper samples were collected from local markets and chemist shops for this research. Some diaper samples were purchased online from well-known e-commerce platforms. All of these samples were tested in a laboratory. There is no regulation for baby diapers in our country. Some countries in the world have banned the use of phthalates in baby diapers. None of the manufacturers of the tested samples put a list of ingredients and chemicals used to make diapers on the label. He should avoid adding phthalates to diapers in view of the health effects caused by phthalates as well as environmental concerns.
