It’s good news for fans of The Seven Deadly Sins anime, the show has been officially renewed for season 5.

Although to be honest, this isn’t much a surprise to anyone. The series remains one of Netflix’s most popular original anime and season 4 ended on a definite cliffhanger.

We also have the point that the 7DS manga is still going strong, which as of May 2020 is on chapter 342 – so there is plenty of source material left to use.

Seven Deadly Sins season 5 release date

  • The Seven Deadly Sins season 5 will release in Japan on January 6th, 2021 and will likely premiere on Netflix in summer 2021.

The fifth instalment of the hit anime was originally scheduled to be released in Japan in October 2020. However, like many other anime projects, had to be delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Thankfully, the official website for the show has announced that the series will return in Japan on January 6th 2021. At the time of writing, the number of episodes that season 5 (technically season 4 in Japan) has not been revealed.

As anime series usually release on Netflix a few months after the national premiere, fans can expect season 5 to premiere in late spring or summer next year.
