Netflix’s latest original anime ‘High-Rise Invasion’ has just premiered around the world, but will the series be renewed for season 2 and if so, when could it release?
Netflix continues to add superb series to its vast library of anime content with the platforms latest title, High-Rise Invasion.
With a great storyline, characters, animation and OP, High-Rise Invasion has arguably one of the best new anime of 2021.
The series premiered yesterday on Netflix, but fans are already wondering whether or not High-Rise Invasion will be renewed and if so, when it could return.
High-Rise Invasion season 2…
- At the time of writing, High-Rise Invasion has not been renewed for season 2 by either Netflix or Studio Zero-G.
Whilst there may not be an official renewal, High-Rise Invasion is highly likely to be renewed for another season.
Not only did season 1 have an open ending, but the anime is arguably popular enough to merit a renewal, currently scoring 6.79/10 on MyAnimeList and 6.9/10 on IMDB.
Then we have the manga series, which may have already ended, but according to Monsters & Critics, there could be enough source material for three more seasons.
However, it is worth remembering that the decision on renewal will entirely be dependent on how well season 1 performed on Netflix – the official stats on viewership have not been revealed.
Overall, considering that the ending to season 1 and availability of source material, it’s safe to assume that if the series is watched by enough people, High-Rise Invasion will almost certainly be renewed for season 2.
High-Rise Invasion season 2: Release date
As High-Rise Invasion has not yet been renewed, there is no official information on when season 2 could release.
However, considering that the source material that would be adapted is already published and assuming Zero-G animation studios do not have another project scheduled for this year, production could theoretically be extremely quick.
An optimistic prediction would be that High-Rise Invasion will return in Fall-2021, but a more realistic expectation would be for a Winter-2021 or even early-2022 premiere.
