Netflix animated series won’t return for another adventure – HITC

The third season of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts has just premiered on Netflix, but will the hit animated series return for season 4?

When Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts premiered on Netflix back in January 2020, not many fans would have expected the series to become an icon of Netflix animation, let alone that we would have got three incredible seasons in just 10 months.

The series has received critical acclaim for its visuals, humour and slick-storytelling, with the show currently scoring a brilliant 8.3/10 on IMDB and a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Season 3 has just premiered on Netflix, but fans are already desperate to know if Kipo will return for a fourth season.

Will there be a Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts season 4?

  • Unfortunately, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts will not return for season 4 on Netflix, with the recently released third season being the final instalment of the hit series.

This will be devastating news to the millions of fans around the world who have loved the Kipo series ever since it first debuted earlier this year.

However, no one wants to see their favourite show dragged out to the point where it loses its personal and unique charm just because it’s a profitable franchise.

Especially in the case of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, many fans like myself would rather see the series end on this fabulous high note than have it lose what makes it special.

Was Kipo cancelled by Netflix?

No, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts was not cancelled by Netflix and the shows producers are passionate about making that known.

Producer of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts Bill Wolkoff said on Twitter: “Just to be clear, Kipo wasn’t cancelled.”

Wolkoff then explained that “we got to tell a full and complete story over three seasons” and that they “always had our eye on that.”

Will there be a Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts movie?

Whilst the animated series may be over, Kipo’s adventures may not be. The creator of the story Rad Sechrist tweeted on September 10th in response to the season 3 renewal: “Honestly hoping they want to do some movies after.”

This is excellent news for fans of the series and it wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume that a feature film from Kipo could be produced.

Whether it be a direct continuation of season 3, a story several years into the future or even a spin-off film, not many fans will complain if a Kipo movie does get the green light from Netflix.

This article will be updated if any new information on the future of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is revealed by either the show’s producers or Netflix, so keep checking in!
