Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) today announced that the total sales of its two-wheeler in Gujarat has now crossed 50 lakh units. In 2001, Honda 2 Wheelers began operations with its first two-wheeler, the Activa. It took Honda 15 years to reach the first 2.5 million customers in Gujarat, the main market for two-wheelers in India. By pleasing its valued customers with three times the speed, Honda has now successfully doubled its customer base by adding 2.5 million new customers in just 6 years. In addition, Honda currently offers rides to more than 5 million two-wheeler customers in the state.

Honda’s CSR initiatives focused on rural education, women empowerment and healthcare have had a positive impact on the lives of more than 2.5 lakh people in the state. The 5 Skill Enhancement Centers (ITIs) adopted by Honda enable local youth in Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Sarkhej, Ankleshwar and Vadodara with employment-oriented technical skills. At the same time, Honda’s safety instructors and dealerships have developed proper road safety habits in more than 87,000 people in Gujarat.
