Nevertheless, many haven’t forgotten their cherished viewing experiences of the previous year in a hurry. Lately, fans have grown particularly curious about the continuation of Locke & Key.

Locke & Key season 2 release date: Is it confirmed?

  • As of yet, a release date for Locke & Key season 2 has not been confirmed. Nevertheless, updates suggest that new episodes will arrive in 2021.

Netflix greenlit the series for a second season back in March 2020 and the creative team already had their imaginations whirling with ideas beforehand.

The showrunner – Carlton Cuse – spoke with IGN and explained that the writers had already begun working on new episodes before being given the green light for season 2.

Fortunately, their efforts and determination were not in vain and the show was picked up again. Production reportedly began on new episodes at Cinespace Film Studios in Toronto, Canada on Monday, September 21st 2020. Since then, we’ve also had an encouraging update on the team’s progress.

In December 2020, Darby Stanchfield posted a photo on Instagram alongside co-stars Connor Jessup and Jackson Robert Scott. They were on the set of Locke & Keyset in Toronto and the image was captioned: “Half of season 2 Locke-d in…”

That same month, Darby posted a video of Locke & Key stars dancing with the following caption: “A high key happy dance for #lockeandkey season THREE! But first, look out for Season two in 2021!” So, not only have we been told to expect season 2 in 2021, but audiences can look forward to season 3 too.

Carlton said of the renewal: “We have some incredible adventures in store for the Locke family in season three, and could not be more excited to continue telling our story with our great partners at Netflix.”

It’s likely that Locke & Key season 2 will arrive in late 2021.
