Is the Peaky Blinders season 6 Netflix release date confirmed? When is it streaming? Let’s consider when audiences may expect it.
Throughout the 2010s, many TV enthusiasts argued that we were living in the golden age of television, citing a wealth of celebrated shows.
It’s often debated which title was the best to emerge from the decade, with the likes of Game of Thrones, Mr. Robot, Fleabag, Stranger Things, Mindhunter and many more popping up frequently to become strong contenders.
However, some would argue that Peaky Blinders simply cannot be ignored in such conversation.
Created by Steven Knight, the series premiered in 2013 and has invited viewers back to the Birmingham of old across five seasons now.
Peaky Blinders season 6 has already been confirmed, but when is the Netflix release date?
Is the Peaky Blinders season 6 Netflix release date confirmed?
- No, a Netflix release date for Peaky Blinders season 6 is yet to be confirmed.
Deadline recently reported that the forthcoming season has already begun filming, although it’s uncertain when the new episodes will reach screens. The Express writes that season 6 could premiere in late 2021 at the very earliest.
Of course, episodes air on BBC One before arriving on Netflix, so if the new season does arrive this year, perhaps it will be added to Netflix in 2022.
Executive producer Caryn Mandabach addressed the project’s shooting process, saying: “Along with our wonderful, supportive, partners at BBC and Netflix, we have been working diligently to ensure we can get Peaky safely back into production; the safety of our cast and crew is always our priority.”
She added: “Thank you to all the Peaky fans who have been so unwaveringly supportive and patient.”
Will there be a Peaky Blinders season 7?
No, Peaky Blinders season 6 has been confirmed as the show’s final season, although Caryn added that “the world of Peaky Blinders will most definitely live on.”
Similarly, Steven Knight echoed this:
“Peaky is back and with a bang. After the enforced production delay due to the Covid pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.”
Steven also confirmed to Deadline that season 6 will be followed up by a movie: “Covid changed our plans. But I can say that my plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie. That is what is going to happen.”
So, while there may not be a season 7, we won’t be feeling that we’ve heard the last of the Peaky Blinders after the season 6 finale.
