The Mandalorian season 2 finally landed on Disney+ on October 30th, 2020, with new episodes arriving weekly.

The new batch of episodes continues the story of the galaxy’s best space dad, Mando (aka Din Djarin) and the Child (aka Baby Yoda).

The Mandalorian on DVD and Blu-ray

  • The Mandalorian is not available on DVD and Blu-ray at the time of writing.

That’s right, it has not yet been announced whether or not The Mandalorian – seasons 1 or 2 – will be coming to DVD and Blu-ray.

As a result, no release date for The Mandalorian on DVD or Blu-ray has been officially revealed.

Opinion: Why The Mandalorian hasn’t been released on DVD yet

While we may not have a Mandalorian DVD release at the time of writing, that doesn’t mean there won’t be one in the future.

The biggest hint that a DVD release is coming is the 2020 remake of Mulan which is already available on DVD and Blu-ray after its cancelled cinema release and transition to Disney+ earlier in the year.

Chances are, Disney is hoping to grow the Disney+ streaming service a little more before they release The Mandalorian on DVD and Blu-ray.

The same can be said of season 7 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars which is also exclusively available on Disney+ at the time of writing.

The Mandalorian is five-times bigger than any other original show on the Disney+ streaming service according to Screen Rant and as there aren’t any other big-name original series on Disney+ yet, a Blu-ray release would potentially keep people off the streaming service at a time when Disney want to be growing the platform.

As a result, fans will have to stay patient until more big-name releases, such as the Marvel TV shows, finally arrive on Disney+.

Seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian are available to stream now on Disney+ with new episodes arriving on Fridays until December 18th.
