India ranks 86th in Covid-19 Response Index, New Zealand, Vietnam and Taiwan top 98 countries

New Delhi: The list of countries that have successfully dealt with the Corona virus epidemic and performed poorly was released on Thursday. India ranks 86th in the Corona Virus Performance Index of 98 countries. New Zealand, Vietnam and Taiwan rank first, second and third in the list of countries successfully facing the crisis. Based on the fight against the epidemic, the U.S. Was ranked 94th in the index. In terms of performance, Sri Lanka is ranked 10th among South Asian countries, Maldives 25th, Pakistan 69th, Nepal 70th and Bangladesh 84th.

The index has been compiled by the Sydney-based international independent think tank Loi. For this, countries were classified into broad categories based on region, political system, population size and economic development. Six different indicators were measured, including corona virus positive cases, tens of millions of population deaths, and the percentage of corona virus screening cases. Comparison data on publicly available and Covid-19 answers were included in the index and the indicators were averaged and each country was between 0-100.

New Zealand, Vietnam and Taiwan are in the top 3 out of 98 countries

The researchers ranked the score of 0 as the worst performance and the score of 100 as the best performance. New Zealand had the highest score of 94.4, followed by Vietnam with 90.8, Taiwan with 86.4 and Thailand with 84.2. Mexico, Colombia, Iran and the US are also ranked in the following five countries in terms of performance. India has a score of 24.3 based on the performance associated with the Corona virus epidemic.
