The 13th Home Secretary level talks were held between India and Bangladesh on Saturday. In a video conferencing, the two sides praised the mutual cooperation and agreed to fight terrorism effectively. This information was given by the Home Ministry. Bilateral cooperation, including Mujib Borsho and diplomatic relations, was widely discussed on the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence struggle. At the meeting, the two countries pledged to take effective action against terrorism and curb illegal activities on the border.
The Home Ministry said in a tweet that during the 19th Home Secretary level talks, the two sides discussed completing the remaining fencing on the Indo-Bangladesh border (IBB) as soon as possible. The Prime Ministers of both the countries agreed to this. The meeting also reviewed the progress of bilateral relations. In addition, the issues of Covid-19 were discussed on cooperation, trade, connectivity, development partnership, electricity, energy and water resources, regional and multilateral cooperation and border management and security. India and Bangladesh also appreciated the mutual cooperation between the two countries during the Corona period.
