Former Finance Secretary announces – Nirmala did not have good relations with Sitharaman, so had to resign

Mumbai: Former Union Finance Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg has made a big statement regarding the sudden resignation of the Finance Ministry. He said he did not have a good relationship with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and that is why he resigned from the post before the end of his term and took VRS i.e. voluntary retirement. Let us state here that Subhash Chandra Garg was transferred from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Power in July 2019, then he applied for Voluntary Retirement (VRS) and was relieved on 31st October 2019.

Subhash Chandra Garg wrote in a blog, “Within a month of Nirmala Sitaram taking over as Finance Minister, in June 2019, I started insisting on my transfer from the Finance Ministry. “I do not have a good and productive relationship with the new finance minister and I do not want to work anywhere outside the finance ministry,” he added. This is the reason I refused prematurely. After the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Nirmala Sitharaman became the Finance Minister.

Had a good relationship with Jaitley

Earlier, Subhash Chandra Garg had a good relationship with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Garg has also praised him in his blog. However, that same coordination with the new finance minister could not be maintained. Garg wrote in the blog, “It became clear long ago that it would be very difficult to work with him. She was biased towards me. She was not good enough to work with me. ”
