The Boys season 2 came to an end in dramatic fashion as it focused on a shocking revelation about Congresswoman Victoria Neuman.
Season 2 of The Boys has been packed full of dramatic revelations and enthralling twists and turns but, as ever, the best was well and truly saved for last.
After episode 7’s mind-blowing finale, that saw at least 14 people killed during the hearing against Vought, fans were left asking who could be behind such a violent and gruesome attack.
Speculation has been rife ever since and now, in episode 8, the assailant behind the attack has finally been revealed.
However, the revelation that it was Victoria Neuman who was behind the attack has only prompted even more questions.
The Boys season 2, episode 8
The eighth and final episode of The Boys season 2 was the most dramatic and action-packed yet.
Victoria Neuman is left to deal with the fallout from the attack during her hearing while The Boys gear-up for an all-out war against the Seven.
After Becca comes begging Billy for help, we finally get to see the confrontation we’ve all been waiting for as Stormfront’s Nazi past is revealed.
After the bloody battle and the day appears to be saved, we finally get the answer to the biggest question of season 2 as we end on a conversation between Alistair Adana and Victoria Neuman which ends in explosive fashion.
Victoria Neuman is the supe assassin!
That’s right, the final moments of episode 8 reveal that Victoria Neuman is the super-powered individual who has been exploding people’s heads in season 2 and was responsible for the attack on the hearing in episode 7.
After episode 7, there was a lot of speculation that the Church of the Collective was behind the attack and in episode 8 that theory is confirmed to a degree as the Church’s leader is shown to be making a deal with Victoria.
But to make sure that her involvement in the attack is kept quiet and that there’s no chance for blackmail, Victoria takes out Alistair Adana and the only lead that we know of that could link her to the attack, in trademark head-popping style of course.
It’s not yet known whether Congresswoman Victoria Neuman, who is reportedly based on the real-life AOC (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez), is using her powers for good or evil and as a result, hers will be a fascinating story thread in season 3.
Victoria is loosely based on the character of Vic the Veep from The Boys comics, a character who was owned by Vought, who managed to wriggle his way into the presidency and there’s a high chance the Victoria Neuman could well want the same.
