Ending reveals the fate of season 4 – HITC

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU season 3 has concluded, but many fans are still trying to understand just what that ending means for the anime.

When thinking about characters and character growth in anime, every fan will automatically think of a different show and for very different reasons.

However, anyone who has watched My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU will agree that the series has featured some of the most well-written characters and storylines in recent memory.

The third season of the hit anime may have only just concluded, but fans are still reeling from what was a highly emotional, highly satisfying ending to a fantastic series.

SNAFU ending…

The vast majority of anime fans have been disappointed at least once with how a particular season concluded, probably because it didn’t live up to the expectation that we, as fans, had of it.

However, the season 3 finale of My Teen Romantic SNAFU did not disappoint in the slightest and was arguably one of the most satisfying endings some of us may have ever watched.

The characters we have seen grow over seven years didn’t just abandon their personal development from the past three seasons for a clean conclusion – instead, the finale showed just how complex endings can actually be and how different people react to them.

Hachiman attempts to resolve the ending by trying to make things go smoothly, Yukino accepts the ending and dives straight for it, Iroha doesn’t want to end with any regrets and Yui struggles to come to terms with it at all.

It may not be that happy ending that some fans may have wanted, but it remained true to the characters and reminded most viewers of exactly why we loved the series.

If you want a deeper explanation of the finale, there is a fantastic feature piece written by David Lynn on Crunchyroll called ‘SNAFU’s Ending is About Endings’ that I would highly recommend, link here.

Will there be a season 4 of SNAFU?

  • At the time of writing, there will not be a season 4 of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU and the series has now officially concluded.

When My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU was renewed for season 3 back in March 2019, it was also announced that this would be the final instalment of the series.

Whilst this may have disappointed fans initially, the recently released season 3 finale wrapped everything up in a great way – no one wants a series to be dragged out and ruined just for more content.

According to ComicBook, the third and final season of the anime adapted the final volumes of the original light novel series, so there is also no more source material left to use. However, anime fans have learned to never say never and there is always the possibility of another OVA later down the line.
