Season 4 of The Syndicate comes to an end on May 4th but will there be a season 5? BBC drama’s creator hints at another series.
After an absence of almost six years, The Syndicate finally returned to our screens for its long-awaited season 4 on March 30th, 2021.
New episodes have aired each Tuesday since as we’ve come to know and love the new group of lottery winners whose lives got a whole lot more dramatic overnight.
But with the sixth and final episode airing tonight (May 4th), fans of the BBC drama have been left asking if The Syndicate will return for season 5.

Season 4 of The Syndicate arrived on BBC One on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021.
The new batch of episodes tells the story of a new group of lottery hopefuls, the staff at Woodvale Kennels.
After learning that they might have won the lottery, the group’s joy quickly turns to despair as they realise that someone has stolen their winning ticket.
Will The Syndicate return for season 5?
- It has not been officially announced if The Syndicate has been renewed for season 5 just yet.
That hardly comes as much of a surprise as the was a whopping gap of almost six years between series 3 and 4 of the BBC drama.
However, after a captivating season 4, hopefully it won’t be quite as long before the fate of The Syndicate season 5 is confirmed,
Creator hints at another series
While The Syndicate may not have been officially announced for season 5, the show’s creator, Kay Mellor, has hinted that more could be on the way.
Speaking to the Daily Star and quoted in The Sun, Kay Mellor said: “It took six years for the current series to come to screen.
“But there’s something cooking. The ingredients are there, so it’s there. But
it’s not cooked up yet.”
However, The Syndicate’s writer and creator also added: “Before I do more of The Syndicate, I have something else I’m cooking up.”
Season 4 of The Syndicate concludes at 9pm on BBC One on May 4th, 2021.
