Indian actor Sonu Sood has topped the list of South Asian celebrities for helping the poor and vulnerable during the Koro epidemic and lockdown. The first and unique ranking of this kind was revealed recently on Wednesday.
The 47-year-old actor faced stiff competition to top the list of 50 Asian celebrities in the world published by Britain’s weekly newspaper Internal Eye. Through this list, artists have been honored who have made a positive impression in the society through their work and have inspired people.
Expressing gratitude for the honor, Sonu Sood said, “During the epidemic, I realized that it was my duty to help the people of my country.” At the time of the lockdown of the Corona epidemic, Sonu Sood helped send Indian migrant laborers back to their homes for which they have received this honor. Asjad Nazir, editor of Eastern Eye, has compiled the list. He said that Sonu Sood deserves this honor as no other celebrity has done so much to help others during the lockdown.
Sonu Sood has also been honored by the Government of Punjab and the Government of Andhra Pradesh for helping migrant laborers and artisans. Sonusud has also been awarded the ADG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations globally. His fans are demanding the highest honors from the Government of India.
