R.K Studio goes up in flames in Mumbai
A major fire broke out at the iconic R K Studio in Chembur on Saturday afternoon. As many as six fire tenders and five water tanks have been deployed to douse the flame.
R K Studio houses the logistics of the R K Films production company, both established by and named after veteran actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor.
P S Rahangdale, the chief of the Mumbai fire brigade, said “The fire was confined to electric wiring, electric installation, decoration equipment in the 100×80 sq ft area on the ground floor of the building,” he said.
Sources say, the fire was first detected at around 2:20PM Indian Standard Time on Saturday afternoon.
There are also reports that the fire broke out from the sets of dance reality TV show “Super Dancer Season 2”
“Luckily, no one was injured as the set of the Sony Entertainment Television show was locked and no one was shooting…. We shot at the location last week, and the next shoot was scheduled for September 29 or 30” a person was quote as saying.
