Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been honored by the Election Commission of India after receiving honors from the UN. The Election Commission has appointed him as the state ‘icon’ of Punjab. This information is given in an official statement. The statement quoted Punjab Chief Electoral Officer S Karuna Raju as saying that his office had sent a proposal to the Election Commission of India on the matter.
The proposal was approved by the Election Commission of India. Now Sonu Sood will run an election awareness campaign in the state. Sonu Sood is from Moga district of Punjab. Sonu Sood is already known all over the country as an actor. He has acted in Hindi, Punjabi and South Indian cinema. But he and his team had a different identity when he helped foreign workers trapped in a lockdown during the Corona virus epidemic go home.
