Mumbai: The BMC has filed an affidavit in the Bombay High Court seeking compensation of Rs 2 crore for illegally breaking into the office of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. In the affidavit, BMC said on Friday, September 18, that the application is an abuse of legal process.
The BMC has requested the court in its affidavit to quash Kangana’s application and impose a fine on her for filing such an application.
The affidavit states that the writ petition and the relief sought in it misuse the legal process. The application should not be considered and should be canceled with penalty.
Let me tell you that on September 9, BMC in Mumbai carried out vandalism of Kangana’s office, alleging illegal construction. On the same day, the court stayed BMC’s proceedings after Kangana Ranaut knocked on the High Court’s door.
Following this, on September 15, Ranaut in his amended application sought Rs 2 crore as compensation for the action taken by BMC. The next hearing in the case is set for September 22.
